The Quadro 240 Is Back!
Oct 31, 2024
If you've either been playing darts for a while or delved into the history of darts you'll know that in the 1990's a strange curiosity hit the darting world - the Quadro board. If you don't know what we're talking about, read on.
The Quadro board featured an extra ring where, you guessed it, you could score 4x the segment your dart landed on!! The board was even used in tournaments in the UK but was out of production by 2000. Despite it's brief appearance in darting history is has retained somewhat of a cult following.
The highest checkout available on the Quadro was a 210 (Q20, Q20, BULL).
The biggest challenge the board faced was the increase in possible checkouts available. On a standard board there are 162 possible checkouts. On the Quadro board the number of checkouts is in the hundreds (and is actually very hard to get an accurate assessment! Any maths gurus out there?).
As many others have pointed out "240" doesn't quite have the same ring to it as ONE HUNDRED AND EIIIIGGGGHHHHTTTY!
Nonetheless if you're a darting officionado who loves everything darts and want to get your hands on one of the true quirks of the sport then Harrows have just announced they are once again selling the board... for a rather reasonable $117!
So there you go, hopefully you've learnt something today.

The brand new Quadro 240!
